Dr Kerr Adams

Research Scientist
Environmental and Biochemical Sciences

Kerr is a catchment systems modeller, focussing on investigating future change impacts on water quality and quantity to inform sustainable water management.

His modelling methods involve the co-development of decision-support tools with stakeholders to support catchment system understanding of water-related issues and future change impacts to inform the identification of collaborative, innovative and transformative water management actions.

He is an International Development officer with the Hydro Nation International Centre, working to develop global partnerships to address water-related challenges.

Kerr studied Sustainable Environmental Management (BSc Hons) at Scotland’s Rural Collage (SRUC) and Agricultural Economics (MSc) at the University of Arkansas. He obtained a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and is an alumni of the Hydro Nation Scholars Programme.

Through his educational and research background, Kerr has experience in working with environmental, social and economic pillars of sustainable development, which he applies to help address water-related challenges. Kerr has skills in stakeholder engagement, socio-ecological systems modelling, investigating future scenarios and economic analysis that he uses to investigate current and future water conditions and inform adaptive management and policy options.

Kerr’s research aims to inform transformative change, contributing to Scotland’s Hydro Nation strategy and addressing global challenges in his role as International Development Officer with the Hydro Nation International Centre.
