Karolina Trdlicova

Karolina is an interdisciplinary social scientist and is part of the People, Land, Change and Equity group. She has expertise and experience in energy and sustainability transitions, and then specifically in the net zero transition and its socio-technical implications. She works on projects related to agricultural policy, soil health and soil literacy. Karolina holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from the University of Nottingham.

Karolina holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from the University of Nottingham. In her thesis she focused on the discourses around shale gas and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage in the context of the UK’s net zero transition. She was a visiting research fellow with the Climate Citizens project at the Lancaster Environment Centre. At the University of Nottingham, she was the inaugural recipient of the Postgraduate Studentship from the School of Sociology and Social Policy and won The Endowed Award – Andrew Hendry Prize for her research. Prior to this, she completed a MA in Social Science Research also from UoN and a BA in Social Sciences from Edinburgh Napier University.
