Ashley Murdoch

Research Assistant
Ecological Sciences
Ash is a Research Assistant in the Agroecology Department within the Ecological Science Group.  She graduated with a BSc Hons in Pharmacology and Biochemistry from the University of Dundee and a MSc in Medical Biotechnology.  Ash began working at JHI as a Research Assistant in 2011 working on a range of projects.  She is experienced in both the laboratory and field using microbiological and analytical techniques. Ash is also working towards an MSc in Data Science with the University of Stirling.

I am currently working on a variety of projects:

  • NUE-Leg (Nitrogen Utilisation Efficiency-Legumes The effects of controlled fire on the biodiversity of heath communities
  • LegumeES (EU-Horizon Europe)
  • NCS Project (PGRO)
  • Econutri (EU-Horizon Europe)
  • RADIANT (EU-H2020)
  • Roots2Res (EU-Horizon Europe)
  • HDRF
  • Necessary (Innovate UK)
  • RESAS, B2, ‘Impact of novel crops and farming practices on the Scottish agricultural landscape’;
