Resistance to antibiotics has been found in the environment across Scotland, according to a new study by scientists at The James Hutton Institute in Aberdeen, the University of Strathclyde, the Institute of Urban Environment in Xiamen, China, and Newcastle University.

Scientists at The James Hutton Institute are part of an innovative programme that has won £3 million funding to enable UK companies to integrate nature into financial decision-making and to mobilise investment in biodiversity.

The James Hutton Institute has been presented with the King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development, awarded in recognition of the institute’s world-leading research on sustainability across land, food and natural resources.
