Hebe is a social scientist in People-Environment studies in the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences Department. Hebe’s research interests lie in the social impact of climate change, environmental migration, community participation and environmental governance.

Hebe joined the James Hutton Institute in March 2022. Her previous research includes projects on environmental perspectives in international student migration to the UK; population sustainability in coastal Fife; and the impact of Cyclone Idai on Malawi's disaster management strategy. Her PhD explored the use of government resettlement as a form of participatory adaptation to climate change in the Lower Shire Region of Malawi.
