Dr Jenni Stockan is a Research Scientist within the Ecological Sciences Group. Jenni has over 22 years research experience particularly within the fields of insect ecology and conservation.

Invertebrates are integral to almost all ecosystems contributing to key processes such as nutrient cycling, natural pest control, pollination of crops and wildflowers and as a food source for other organisms. Jenni studies how anthropogenic changes in ecosystems affect insect populations, distributions and communities and the implications for ecosystem services. She also studies management solutions to help protect and enhance insect populations. Jenni currently coordinates the project "Scotland's Biodiversity: People, Data, Monitoring" for the Scottish Government Strategic Research Programme.
